The 6 trails of the Mamore Waterfall park have different length and degree of difficulty, some can be covered with children, others are dedicated to those who practice trekking. So it is important to choose your path carefully.

Trail no. 1 – The ancient passage
The path no. 1, built during the second half of the eighteenth century, is one of the historical paths of the Marmore Waterfall and connects the Lower Outlook to the Upper one.
This very demanding path starts from Didactical Centre and after a few minutes of walking you reach an impervious rail that leads to a crossroads.
If you take the left, you can reach the Lover’s Balcony, a wonderful terrace inside the first jump of the waterfall from which you can enjoy a spectacular and unique view.
Instead, taking the right path you can reach the Upper Outlook and the Specola, a little tower built by Pope Pius VI in 1786, from which you can admire a breathtaking view of the entire waterfall.

- Travel time: 40 minutes uphill, 25 minutes downhill

Trail no. 2 – The ring of the Nymph
The path no. 2, thanks to its simplicity and to the magic of some of its views, is suitable for families with children.
This route starts from the Didactical Centre and, after a short flat track, you can admire one of the 300 caves inside the park of the Marmore Waterfall.
Subsequently, you reach a wooden bridge that leads to an outlook where to admire a side of the waterfall.
Going along the path, other stairs lead near the second jump of the waterfall. Here, the roar and the scent of water offer a unique and unforgettable sensorial experience

Trail no. 3 – The meeting of waters
The path no. 3 offers breathtaking views on the canyon of the Nera river, destination of many passionate of canoe and rafting who want to experience the thrill of challenging its rapids.
This path, simple and suitable for children, starts from the Didactical Centre and leads to a bridge over the river.
After the observation of a side of the waterfall, it is possible to admire the luxuriant vegetation that covers the canyon.
Continuing along the path, you reach an outlook from which you can admire the last two jumps of the waterfall.

Trail no. 4 – The magnificence
The trail no. 4, known as the Pennarossa path, is the most famous and popular path inside the Marmore Waterfall Park, as it offers a breathtaking view of its 3 jumps. In fact, this path is located in front of the waterfall on the southern slope of Mount Pennarossa.
The trail begins with a series of concrete steps leading to two viewpoints, the Pennarossa Lower Outlook and the Pennarossa Upper Outlook, both offering a frontal view of the waterfall.
Continuing beyond the Pennarossa Upper Outlook you can reach the Parco della Batteria, so called because during the Second World War it housed the anti-aircraft destined to defend the factories of Terni.

Trail no. 5 – The man and the cliff
The trail no. 5 is the most recent path of the Marmore Waterfall park, in fact, it was built during the 70s and it unveils several examples of industrial archaeology.
The first part of this trail is flat and offers breathtaking views of the Ternana basin, the Nera river valley, several medieval villages with the throats of Ferentillo. During this first part of the route, you can also admire 11 artificial wells.
The final stretch offers a partial view of the Lower Outlook and the second and third jump of the waterfall.
Along this path, there are also the Cava Curiana and the Regulatory Bridge, two interesting works designed to allow water regulation, and some of the most beautiful caves in the park.

- Length: 1,000 meters

- Travel time: 30 minutes
Trail no. 6 – The Wise Olm Oak
The path no. 6, like the no. 1, connects the Lower Outlook to the Upper one and vice versa but is longer and more demanding due to the presence of very steep sections.
This hiking trail leads to a dense forest of oaks in order to allow the vision of pipes and construction of the old hydroelectric power plants.
As the first trail, too, this path offers a breathtaking view of the Marmore Waterfall.

- Length: 1,000 meters

- Travel time: 1 hour uphill, 45 minutes downhill
